Passion & Lullaby
The March ’10 performance of the Passion is officially on the Sine Nomine calendar.Actual application, tonight, to the arrangement of Lutosławski’s Lullaby for cello ensemble, which in its course will absorb as many of the fleeting notions that I’ve been mulling, as can be made to cohere all together. This has been a project for which “pre-compositional hashing” (post-compositional, really, as the Lullaby has been a finished piece for a decade and a half) has been more ‘generative’ than (strictly speaking) ‘productive’; but then, that simply means I can be selective, which has to be a good thing.
