Jeffrey Grice often performs (and records) figures of 20th century and contemporary music. From Jean Françaix, Guy Ropartz, Georges Migot, Roger Gallois- Montbrun, to the works of Jenny McLeod, Karen Tanaka, Nigel Keay, David Chaillou and Kyril Zaborov.

In 2004, Stereo Magazine, Japan, acclaimed his CD for Sony Classical with flautist Shigenori Kudo of 20th century French flute/piano repertoire (Poulenc, Dutilleux, Gallois-Montbrun). His recent playing of the first seven Tone Clock Pieces of Jenny McLeod (The Waiteata Collection of New Zealand Music) was hailed as “incandescent”.

World premieres have included: Jenny McLeod's "Tone-Clock Pieces" (1991 in Paris), Karen Tanaka's Quintet for flute, piano and string trio (1996 in Yokohama), Nigel Keay’s The dancer leads the procession (2003 in Paris, then toured for Chamber Music New Zealand), David Chaillou’s Diableries, Kyril Zaborov Sonata (2005 in Paris).
